Continuing our journey toward clean, breathable, and livable cities, the second edition of Breath of Change, a capacity-building workshop under the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) Resource Lab, was held this week in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

The workshop brought together over 40 participants — including civil engineers, members of the Pollution Control Board, and representatives from road-owning agencies — all united by a shared vision: to reimagine urban spaces with clean air and safer streets for all.

In his keynote address, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Scientist, CAQM, emphasized that true development begins with people — where cyclists, pedestrians, and public transport users are placed at the heart of planning and design, ensuring both mobility and air quality are prioritized.

The sessions fostered rich discussions on thoughtful street design, sustainable mobility, and community-driven action, exploring how these elements can shape cities where everyone can breathe easier and live healthier.
Participants also engaged in a site audit, followed by a screening of “Ek Sadak Ki Kahani”, a film showcasing the transformation of Gurugram’s Sanath Road into a people-friendly street.

We extend our gratitude to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) for their leadership and to the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board for their unwavering support in making this initiative a success.
